Blendolo

Makeup for hands that shake, tire or hurt

The same red lip. Two mirrors. One of them takes eleven tries.

A tinted balm and a fingertip get you there in one. Blendolo keeps your look, swaps the hard steps for easy ones, and shows you the easy version on your own face first.

Graded by the hardest step

Why this matters

  • More than 1 in 4

people with essential tremor say their tremor affects putting on makeup. 2,864 people were asked.

  • 5.3 million

women live with Parkinson's worldwide. That's 45% of everyone with it.

  • 194 million

people have osteoarthritis in their hands, women twice as often as men. Pinching a cap or a thin pencil can hurt.

How it works

Four steps. No steady hand needed for any of them.

  1. Prop up your phone

It takes your photo by itself when your face is still. No aiming, no quick taps.

  2. Tell us about your hands

Five big choices: tremor, pinch or grip pain, one hand, tire fast, close vision.

  3. See the easy version

Pick a look. Hard steps are swapped, and you see both versions on your own face.

  4. Follow big step cards

Detailed steps first, while your hands are fresh. Tidy smudges last. Read aloud.

The ease score

One hard step makes a look hard. So we swap it.

Every look gets an ease score for your hands, not for anyone else's. A look is only as easy as its hardest step, so we grade it by that step. Then we swap it for one that keeps the colour and the feel.

  • Winged liquid linerbecomes Smudged pencil line, short strokes
  • Liquid lipstickbecomes Tinted balm, tapped on with a finger
  • Brow pencil strokesbecomes Tinted brow gel with a big wand
  • Powder blush and a small brushbecomes Cream blush and fingertips

Mascara has no easy swap. We say so, and offer upper lashes only, or a day without it. Ease scores are our own guide, not a clinical measure. Swaps come from published tips by Parkinson's UK and the Parkinson's Foundation, and from people living with tremor, MS or arthritis.

Bring back your signature look

Miss the look in your favourite photo? Wear it again.

Upload an old photo of you wearing a look you loved. Blendolo puts that look on today's face, then rebuilds it from steps your hands can do.

  • Same colours, easier steps
  • The classic and the easy version side by side
  • A short list of what you'll need

Works best when your eyes are open and your face is clear in both photos.

A woman in her sixties with a bold red lip and a green dress laughs in the hallway mirror while her husband buttons his blazer, ready for an evening out.
A smiling woman in a coral blouse sits at a wooden table, hands resting, while her phone on a small stand takes her photo.

Easy to use

Built for hands that shake.

Made with the same rules as this page: big targets, and nothing that needs a steady hand.

  • Big buttons, with room between them
  • A tap counts when you lift your finger, so a slip doesn't press the wrong thing
  • No dragging, swiping, pinching or double taps
  • Works with Voice Control and Voice Access. Say the words on the button
  • Every step card can be read aloud
  • No time limits. Stop any time and finish later

For helpers and occupational therapists

Doing it together? Share the routine.

Send your step cards to a daughter, a friend or a carer with one private link. They see the same steps in the same order, so help fits the way you like to do it.

Occupational therapists can use the cards as a ready handout, next to their own advice on grips and tools.

An older woman with short silver hair laughs on the sofa while her daughter sweeps a little blush onto her cheek with a big soft brush.
Easy to open makeup on mint linen: a pump bottle, a flip top balm, a compact with a big grip tab, a blush stick, a brow gel with a chunky cap and a short fat brush.

For beauty brands and shops

Show shoppers what is easy to open and easy to use.

Every easy swap is a product: a chunky pencil, a tinted balm, a cream stick, a pump foundation. Blendolo tags products by how they open and how they go on, so the easy version is ready to shop.

  • Opens one-handed
  • No pinch grip
  • Pump
  • Goes on with a fingertip
  • Forgiving formula
  • No step near the eye

Try before you buy, now with the easy version too.

Questions

Do I need steady hands to use this?

No. Every button is big, nothing needs a drag or a double tap, and the camera takes the photo by itself when your face is still. Prop your phone up and you won't need to hold it.

Will the easier version still look like my look?

That's the idea. We keep your colours and the feel of the look, and swap only the steps that need a steady hand. You see both side by side before you try anything.

Can it bring back a look from an old photo?

Yes. Upload a photo of you wearing a look you loved. We show it on today's photo, then rebuild it from easy steps. It works best when your eyes are open and your face is clear in both photos.

What happens to my photos?

Our try-on partner, YouCam, uses them to make the previews. You choose to keep them for 30 days or delete them when you're done. Partner copies are removed within 30 days.

Is this medical advice?

No. It's makeup help. For anything about your condition or medicines, ask your care team. An occupational therapist can also suggest grips and tools.
